So I have had a very busy couple of weeks. Between helping out at VBS one week and keeping 2 of my beautiful nieces the next and getting my oldest to and from camp unscathed, I have pretty much exhausted all of my energy resources!! I know, I know.....being a mom is always busy. It has just been more so lately.
All was finally calmed down, and I was ready to get back to whatever it is we call normal here, when my sleepwalking son ended up outside during his wandering. I was ALMOST asleep when we heard the door alarm go off (we installed it after he went out one other time), and my husband and I both ran down the stairs and out the door in search of him. He was in the front yard, and still in sleepwalk mode. We got him safely inside and back in bed within a couple minutes, but I was unable to sleep until 4 am.
With less than 4 hours sleep, I made it through church and emerged just this side of loopy. My wonderful husband took care of lunch, then promptly sent me to bed. And so the dream begins....
Or dreaming, you might call it because it seemed like several dreams all going on at once. It was one of those super realistic busy dreams that you don't think you will ever wake out of. The short version is basically like walking through a large house full of people. I was upstairs recording a couple of songs, which I have never done, but since I had been told I had a Joplin-esque sound, it had been requested by one of those unnamed, but somehow understood dream people. I walk downstairs and am told that I need to get to the basement to help someone. On the way down, I get a call on my cell from a friend who has a band that is WAY out of my realm of listening, let alone singing ability. He tells me that their singer is sick and I have to fill in on Thursday at the fair of all places. While we are arguing/talking about it, I arrive in the basement to find K.D. Lang laying on the floor, upset because she has to make an appearance somewhere and was told to wear a dress. I tell my friend I will get him my demo that was just made and hang up to help K.D. with my amazing fashion sense. Once that is under control, I go back upstairs where I get Freddy (yes, from iCarly!) to send my demo to my friend.
Crazy dream??? Um yeah.... I wouldn't know what to do in a music studio, don't really listen to K.D. Lang much, do not possess a ton of fashion sense, and don't even go to the fair, so performing at one is way out there! I was SO ready to wake up from that one, although Freddy did make me sound awesome on the demo!!
Maybe better sleep tonight will bring things back to normal. Sweet dreams everyone!
...eat your vegetables...clean your room...wash your hair...change your unders...because I said so!

Yes, I am still alive!!!
I had good intentions when I began this blog. Really, I did! It seems that I have let it go the way of the journals I have started over the years- pledging to fill daily with my thoughts, feelings, and happenings-- only to forget to come back to them. I am not a very disciplined person when it comes to routine. For that, I must apologize and just promise to do my best from here on out.
At the time of my last post, I was just starting back to school after a 15 year break. That has been a dauting, albeit successful (so far) challenge and has taken much of my time. I am happy to report that I am through with 2 semesters plus one summer class and have a 3.75 GPA at the moment. Not too bad for a 37 year old mom of 3 who only gets to study once the kids are in bed!
The children are wonderful and have been very understanding of the times when I have had to be gone for class. Jessie has been awesome in taking care of them and supporting my efforts. And most importantly, God has been faithful in providing me the grace I need to get through the hectic schedule.
I pray all of you out in the cyber world are equally blessed. Now, I must run!!! The Little League field is calling!
